OVERVIEW: This theme allows children and adults to experience the wonder of a true Country Western picnic. A day complete with a succulent menu, country band, line dancing, western characters, panning for gold and much more. Something for everyone. Have fun reading about our entertainment ideas!
Music.....
Big Mama Sue and her sidekicks: No one knows quite how to entertain like Big Mama Sue. Always in theme and the musical hit of the party. She has a wonderful way about her that ties the entire event together. She and her guys will meet and greet your guests with their uplifting music and play through lunch. They will play all the old timey Americana tunes laced with bluegrass and old cowboy songs. Big Mama Sue sings and plays washboard while accompanied by Mr. Banjo and Mr. Tuba.
Bluegrass Trio: A trio "decked out" in western wear playing acoustic country and bluegrass favorites for a toe tappin' good time will stroll the grounds at the beginning of picnic to set the theme for the entire day.
Country Band: This five piece amplified band consists of fiddle, bass, guitar, banjo and vocals. It's the band that will make your guests get up and start swaying. For those that want to dance, our dance instructor will supply the know-how for everything from line dancing to the two step.
Strolling Entertainment.....
Cowgirl Catie: With her fringed satin shirt and full calico skirt, six-guns, boots, and braids, the Wild Westerner gets a hoe-down gettin' down! She meets and greets your guests as they arrive with down-home western hospitality and tall tales of the old west!
Rope Trick Girl: A western event wouldn't be complete without the twirling of ropes. Our cowgirl will amaze your guests with her tricks. With grace and skill the ropes twirl around her, not just one rope at a time...but two or three! A sight to behold. This past fall she was awarded the prestigious title of Western Performer of the Year in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Cowboy Clowns: Our clowns, their humorous antics, slap stick comedy and balloon sculptures meet and greet your guests as they arrive. After lunch the children are entertained in a special area reserved for group games and a series of activities designed to be fun without stress or competitiveness. The clowns come complete with colorful props, huge parachute and unbounded energy to entertain your kids. Then "THE HUNT FOR THE LOST TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE". An exciting production that takes the kids on an adventure all over the park looking for clues until they find the "treasure" (enough for all, of course!).
The Slimy Dog Lynch Mob: This stunt must remain a secret until the picnic! You choose the victim and we help you manufacture the crimes. During lunch two scurvy dirty dog characters will surreptitiously in filtrate your group, scurrying from table to table with "Wanted" posters, inciting everyone to help lynch our hapless victim. The victim is grabbed and taken to the hanging tree where the noose is lowered and the crimes are dramatically read. Your guests vote "to lynch or not to lynch" (they always vote to lynch). In the nick of time, he or she is rescued by our sheriff, and presented with a framed wanted poster in memory of the event.
Fixed Attractions.....
Panning for Gold: Two of our miners will help kids pan for gold nuggets. The assay office is set up nearby and young miners weigh out their pay dirt for prizes. This attraction comes complete with panning troughs, the western assay office and two miners to run the show. Gold mining lasts approximately 2 1/2 hours.
Face Painting: Children and adults alike will love this one. Our painters are so good they bring to life each childs (or adults) fantasy, be it a clown, fairy princess, ninja turtle or spiderman. No matter what they choose you will love the excitement it brings them. Your picnic will be full of colorful happy faces.
Country Crafts: Lets get those creative juices flowing. We will set up a full arts and crafts station for the children at your event. Our professional art instructors will help the kids make crafts like Sheriffs Badges, Indian Ceremonial Sticks, Masks, Painted Animals, etc. Craft projects will be taught by our competent instructors.
Dr. Wilson's Medicine Show: Our wizard of illusions will mingle with guests doing card tricks and illusions mixed with comedy patter. His clever half hour scheduled magic show is reminiscent of the old carnie husker show promoting the sale of "questionable elixirs"! His aim is to confuse and delight your guests.
Hand-Led Pony Rides: What is more western than pony rides? Our "cow-punchers" will arrive with ponies ready to ride. Our cowboys are wonderful with the kids and not only provide the rides, but also talk to them about the animals and a cowboys life. Each pony can provide about fifteen rides per hour.
